    After only a few hours of deliberation, a Colorado jury found Donthe Lucas guilty of first degree murder in the disappearance of Kelsie Schelling. Shortly after the verdict was read, Lucas was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.     Dorothy Irene Kuntz passed away Feb. 28, 2021 at her home in Loveland at the age of 101. Dorothy was born and raised in Pleasanton, Neb. on Aug. 30, 1919 to Rudolf and Isadore Kirschner. They lived on the Kirschner homestead land until 1932 when they moved to Otis. It took them two days to travel to Colorado from Nebraska. Dorothy attended school in Otis. Her parents later moved to Haxtun. Dorothy remained in Otis until she finished 10th grade. She graduated in 1938 from Haxtun High School....

    Barbara Ann Fix passed away on Feb. 26, 2021 at the Haxtun Health Extended Care Unit age the age of 82. Barb was born on May 30, 1938 in Greeley to Glenn T. and Irene (McCoy) Hendon. She graduated from Sterling High School and married Howard Fix Sr. on July 8, 1956 in Sterling. While staying at home to raise her four sons, Barb enjoyed crafting, knitting, word puzzles and playing cards.
