    Heavy snows and cloudy skies highlighted a rather difficult week of getting out and about. Driving was an exercise in caution regarding the drifting and blowing snow. The whites and grays of consecutive snowfalls and dismal skies blended to form a monochromatic and featureless landscape.     The Phillips County Fair Board is gearing up for another eventful week in July. The 2023 Phillips County Fair is slated for July 25-30 at the fairgrounds in Holyoke.     The Bulldog basketball team went 1-1 over the weekend. Haxtun picked up a win on the road in Julesburg on Friday night but fell in a nail biter the following night in Otis. The team holds a 7-5 overall record and stands at 2-2 in league play with just seven games remaining on the regular season schedule.     The Fleming Wildcats competed in a short week of basketball action last week as winter weather postponed another contest.
