    For a limited time, the American Red Cross is testing all blood, platelet and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies, providing donors insight into whether they have been exposed to this coronavirus. At the same time, there continues to be an urgent need for blood donations as hospitals resume surgeries and treatments that require blood products.     Haxtun Health has established a COVID-19 Vaccination List Hotline to allow community members to sign up to receive the vaccine when it is available. Community members can call Haxtun Health at (970) 774-6123 Option 4 to be added to the list. Vaccine Distribution Haxtun Health is following all CDC and State of Colorado guidelines for dissemination of the vaccination.     David Duane Schaefer, known as Dave by all who knew him, passed away unexpectedly in Haxtun on Dec. 31, 2020 at the age of 67. He was born on Sept. 21, 1953 in Sterling to Lee and Thyra Schaefer. On Aug. 17, 1979 Dave married Kathy Idler in a wedding chapel outside of Golden. At the time of his death, Dave was employed by Wilson's Repair in Haxtun.     Althea Maxine (Lundberg) Cumming passed away on Dec. 20, 2020 at her home in Sun Lakes, Ariz. at the age of 96. Althea was born March 26, 1924, to Roy Edward and Alice Pearl (Lounsberry) Lundberg on their farm north of Haxtun in Sedgwick County.
