Out of all the Colorado 1A boys’ basketball teams, the Haxtun Bulldogs ended their season with a Great 8 finish, and despite a tough loss to a team that finished in the championship, the Bulldogs boast a final 11-6 winning record. The sale of Town-owned property was the topic of a special meeting held last Monday, March 8. After only a few hours of deliberation, a Colorado jury found Donthe Lucas guilty of first degree murder in the disappearance of Kelsie Schelling. Shortly after the verdict was read, Lucas was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Event center rental fees and weed and pest application rates are changing in Phillips County following several votes by the Commissioners throughout the month of February. Haxtun Police Department registered sex offender Michael Woodward, 41, Haxtun, in the 700 block of South Washington Avenue in Haxtun last week.
