    Three Haxtun student athletes received nods from Lower Platte League coaches at the conclusion of the 2021-22 basketball season. Senior Owen Knode and junior Maclin Tempel received All-Conference honors. Senior Taylor Schram earned All-Conference, Honorable Mention status.   • Town of Haxtun looks at ways to finance curb & gutter replacements in conjunction with street project

    As the Town of Haxtun prepares for a major street project later this year, discussion surrounding curb and gutter replacement along those streets has begun. According to Superintendent Ron Carpenter, he recently sent letters to 18 residents who have curb and gutter along streets that are being replaced.     A pickup stolen from a residence just north of Haxtun on Tuesday evening, Feb. 8 was later recovered following a police chase in Perkins County, Neb. In the late hours of the evening, William Klingenfuss, 30, of La Marida, Calif., found a Chevy Silverado with the keys in it at a home along Highway 59, about a mile and a half north of Haxtun.
