    Haxtun FFA held the annual Ag Night basketball game on Jan. 21 in conjunction with the Haxtun versus Holyoke basketball game. Ag Night began as a joint effort between the Haxtun and Holyoke FFA chapters during the 2018-19 basketball season in an effort to promote local agriculture businesses and to showcase the importance of agriculture in our community.     The Haxtun FFA celebrated National FFA week this past week. Throughout the week, students participated in activities in class and helped to promote FFA. The week started on Tuesday, Feb. 18 with the annual Petting Zoo. Elementary students and other kids from the community were able to pet the animals and learn more about them.     Ten members of the Haxtun FFA Chapter traveled to the Revere High School, where the District 16 speaking contest was held. The morning began with registration and opening ceremonies. After that, the contests began. The quiz bowl team of Kristopher Hadeen, Michael Gerk and Kyle Fryrear began their day by taking a test that ranked them for the oral tournament.
